修身书院在灵石县城。清光绪十六年（1890），邑中秀才胡良考创建，招生徒肄业，人称胡家书屋。二十一年乡试，学生三十余人皆中秀才，名称一时，诸生立“尊师重道”牌坊以为张扬。
牌坊柱联：
春风化雨恩浩荡；
身教名传德崇隆。
